I've been hard at work on the sprites for the main character. I've started creating a "head-sheet", which is what I call it. Basically, the art style I'm doing involves creating the characters head in in a variety of different positions, doing different expressions, then those can be pasted on the body. This saves a lot of time when animating.
Here is a head-spin animation to show you the basic color scheme and the head in different states.
Slow day, but I started working on a death animation for the main character.
Well, hello there, it's been a few days. I've been working on animations. I am posting two today; Ninja Star throw and some kind of special move i'm calling God Fist, which will launch a powerful magical beam.

I only have one more proto to complete, then I'll be moving on turning them into finished sprites. Using this rough "stickman" type, I have to redraw over-top, the linework, into what the character looks like, then do all the coloring. I hope I can get that part done in a resonable amount of time. Until then, I'll post anything else I get done.
The only thing I'm posting today are some enemy designs. Dragon Slug and a Caturai.
Today I spent more time on proto-animations and have written out extensive notes on how the game works. I've rewritten my initial ideas and I think they are much more clear. I also did a little brainstorming on some of the enemies and levels in the game. More to come.
